Chuck was first introduced to the N-SSA as a young boy. His neighbor, at the time, was Rick Moreland, who had invited his family to be a guest at a National competition. Chuck remembers the fascination he found as a kid, in awe of the firepower being displayed, and the comradery of the team members. Chuck and his family attended almost every National competition for about 4 or 5 years straight, until other family obligation did not permit them to attend. It wasn't until Chuck turned 18, and got his driver's license that he returned on his own. Chuck began by going to the Nationals each Spring and Fall as a guest for a number of years. During that time he would always mention that he had aspirations of joining the organization, and in the fall of 2001, at the team meeting, Rick informed the team that Chuck wished to join. Chuck jumped in with both feet, and within four years time he had accumulated 2 team competition medals, and 4 individual competition medals. His goal is to earn the DSSA (Distinguished Skirmisher Shooting Award). Chuck works for the Office of the Public Defender in Prince George's County as a Paralegal, with plans to go on to law school. His other hobbies include computers, golfing, and motor scooters. When asked what he most enjoys about skirmishing, he replies, "I don't think I could pick any one thing. I love everything about it,...the great people that become your extended families, the competition, the tranquility, and it's just fun! About the only thing I don't like is having to leave each time."
