Jim met Scott Culver at a Long & Foster Real Estate office. Because of Jim's, well known fondness for conversation, the two began chatting it up when the conversation came around to the movie, "The Last of the Mohicans". It was at that point that Scott explained to Jim that he was a member of the N-SSA, and that he should go check out a competition sometime.

Jim took Scott up on the invite, and after one visit was hooked. While Jim has always held a fondness for american military history, his passion for knowledge for the Civil War only grew from there. Having served in the U.S. Air Force it's easy to see where it comes from.

It should be noted that the report on William McGregor, in the "Team History" section of this site was researched and written by Jim. His love of the history, and pride in the comrodery, compells him to comment, "This is the one hobby I'll never give up!"
