John had heard about a Cannon shooting display that was to be held, and just happened to be driving down the road when he saw a cannon being trailered. John decided on a whim that he wanted to check out the Cannon fire, and followed the traveling artillery unit to Ft. Shenandoah.

Once on the grounds he wandered around down at sutler's row, and eventually down to the firing range where he met McGregor's, John Maas and Paul Baltrunas. The gentlemen explained to John what the N-SSA was all about. And after seeing the climps of interest in his eye, the two McGregor's asked if John would be interested in joining with the McGregor's.

There hasn't been a moment of hesitation since. John has jumped right in, feet first. In his first two years as a member he has already proven to be a valued member of the team in Musket, Carbine, and Revolver.
